Jaz Reynolds: "Today Was My Day"

Jaz Reynolds was ecstatic to inform that he has been offered and accepted a scholarship offer from the Oklahoma Sooners.

Jaz Reynolds, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound wide receiver from Aldine Eisenhower High in Texas informed Sooners Illustrated that he has accepted an offer to play for Oklahoma.

"Yes sir," Reynolds explained when asked about the possible commitment to OU. "I got the OU offer today and I committed today."

Reynolds first got familiar with the Sooners by taking a couple of unofficial visits, and even though they had not extended an offer he kept them on his list as a favorite.

"I went up there a couple of times last season and I really liked the atmosphere, the fan base, the facilities," Reynolds conveyed. "I really liked the weight room and how close knit all of the facilities are."

Reynolds was also playing close attention to what was going on at OU regarding the receiver position.

"I really like the situation with the receiving corp," Reynolds admitted. "I fit in to the offense and have an opportunity for some playing time early on."

The Scout.com three-star prospect also liked the way that OU receiver coach Jay Norvell was straight up with him throughout the entire process.

"Coach Norvell is my position coach and he tells me like it is, and did not try to butter me up," Reynolds informed. "He never made me think there was a false hope. He told me the situation and after the situation with Josh Jarboe he told me that he was going to try to get me a scholarship."

"I guess today was my day!"

Reynolds selected OU over offers from schools like Kansas, Kentucky, Virginia, Oregon, Nebraska, Colorado, Houston, Baylor, Minnesota, Northwestern, Rice, and SMU.

As a junior Reynolds finished the season with 31 catches for 675 yards and six touchdowns.
