Focus 2010: Berry Taking Trips

Johns Marshall High linebacker Ken Berry is already starting to receive some heavy college interest and has already been on two unofficial visits to watch the Arkansas Razorbacks and Oklahoma Sooners first hand.

Ken Berry, a 6-foot-0, 210-pound junior linebacker from John Marshall High in Oklahoma City, Okla., has been having a pretty good time over the past couple of weeks.

To start off with he was able to make it out to Fayetteville for an unofficial visit to watch Arkansas' opening day victory over Western Illinois.

"I went to an Arkansas game," Berry said. "Arkansas was pretty nice."

Then Berry and his teammates at John Marshall would kick-off the 2008 season with a victory, and he played a big role in the win.

"We are 1-0. I think I played pretty good. I think that I had something like 18 tackles and two sacks."

"I am playing inside linebacker. Our coaches move us around. Wherever he wants us to play, that's where we play."

The next day Berry found himself in Norman watching the Sooners take on Cincinnati.

"It was good I like how the game went," Berry informed. "It was a good atmosphere. I like how it went."

"Basically everyone in my whole family are Sooner fans. They have a powerhouse program with great tradition."

Arkansas and OU are not the only two schools on his list, as he is starting to get more and more interest with each day.

"I am still interested in Notre Dame," Berry explained. "I like the tradition and academics."

"Kansas invited me out for a game. I am receiving some mail and a lot of interest from the Cal Bears."

Berry believes that middle backer will be his position on the next level.

"I think that is where I will play on the next level," Berry responded when asked if middle linebacker was his likely position in college.

"I think I have the size and instincts to play inside linebacker. I think I read plays well, I am a good tackler, and I am very quick to the ball."
