RECRUITING: Top Texas DT narrows list

Duncanville, Texas defensive tackle Xavier Lawson-Kennedy lists his final eight schools

JH: What happened to your high school team in the playoffs?

XLK: "We lost in the first round of the playoffs on a field goal with three seconds left in the game. That game was tough, because Midland High tried to cheap shot me and came up behind me and cut me at my knees. They threw the guy out of the game, but I had to come out of the game as well because my knee swelled. The next play they ran a play right through my gap for 55 yards, which set up their field goal. I was just helping my linebacker up they hit me with a cheap shot. I just had a sprained knee, but it was scary for a little while."

JH: What kind of year did you have?

XLK: "I had a pretty good year. I am not sure what my stats are, but they are pretty good.

JH: Have you set any visits yet?

XLK: "I haven't set any visits yet. Texas was the first school to come by and see me today. I have narrowed my schools down to Florida, Florida State, Miami, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas, Arkansas and USC. I will pick the schools I will visit out of those schools."
