Against the Spread…

The Sooners enter the Texas game on a five game hot streak and a four game hot streak against the spread, will they be able to keep things rolling along against a top five Longhorn team?

Oklahoma Vs. Texas

Game Time:11:00

TV:ABC

Line: -6.5

SI ATS Record: 4-0

We have been back and forth on this game all week. At the beginning of the week we had a stinky suspicion that with some nagging OU injuries that the game may be a little closer than we would have predicted a couple of weeks ago.

But as the week progressed we just feel like the UT secondary is going to be too inexperienced to stop or slow down Sam Bradford and all of the weapons that he has to choose from on offense.

Here is what we do know about Texas.

1. The offensive line is playing better than last year, when they were horrible...

2. Colt McCoy is playing a lot better than last year when he was not that good…

3. The defensive line is VERY talented and will apply pressure…

4. The secondary is very young and gives up a lot of yards…

5. Jordan Shipley is a go to type of receiver that can make big plays…

Here is what we do know about Oklahoma.

1. The OU offensive line is very experienced and has kept pressure of the QB…

2. Sam Bradford is still playing great and maybe even better than he did last year…

3. The defensive line is VERY talented and will apply pressure…

4. So far this year the defensive secondary has yet to give up a big play…

5. OU has a host of play makers on offense and it is hard to just pick one that will shine…

When you look at the game there are a lot of similarities on both squads, but OU has the advantages when it comes down to match-ups.

Here is how we see it going down….

We expect the Sooners to hit them with some early runs against the blitz to set the tempo of the game (If they break a couple of long ones early then it could be a blow out) and then they will try to open things up and start to pick them apart through the air as the game progresses.

Colt McCoy is probably too good this year to let his team fold up, but if OU can get to him and plant him in the turf a few times it will take some of the air out of the Horn offense.

It may be a different game than Sooner fans are used to watching (in 2008), but the result should end up being the same.

OU- 31

Texas- 20
