OU/KU: First Half Notes

A look at some of the first half notes on today's match-up between Oklahoma and Kansas, both teams came in to the game ranked in the Top 25…

- In the pre-game Austin Box was warming up with the ones at middle linebacker.

- Manuel Johnson got injured on the first drive. It looked like an elbow or forearm injury and it did not look good. It appears that Adron Tennell will get his snaps.

- The Sooners started off with Nic Harris at middle linebacker and Quinton Cater got his first career start at safety.

- Troy Ratteree is playing for Brody Eldridge, leading us to believe that Brody is banged up.

- The kick-off coverage unit now features guys like Nic Harris, Dom Franks, Keenan Clayton, Travis Lewis, and Brian Jackson. We will see if it helps any at all…

- Kansas wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe is the real deal. He can make some fantastic plays on the ball.

- Lendy Holmes is having a huge first half. He not only has two interceptions, but his play in the end-zone towards the end of the first half saved OU at least four points when he knocked a sure TD pass out of the hands of Briscoe.

- Juaquin Iglesias would also have a huge first half and set a record by puling down 10 catches for 178 yards, the most yardage ever by a wide receiver in the first half of a game.

- Sam Bradford's 313 yards passing in the first half shares second all-time amongst Sooner quarterbacks.

- The two powerful offensive attacks combined for over 700 yards of total offense (OU 419 yards) and 41 points.
