Wort Comes Away Impressed

Tom Wort committed to Oklahoma back in April shortly after taking an unofficial visit with his father. This weekend he was back in Norman for his official visit and this time he brought the whole family along, and they were all blown away by the whole experience.

Tom Wort, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker from New Braunfels High in Texas enjoyed his time in Norman this past weekend while he was on his official visit.

"I showed up and I got to meet with Coach Venables and Coach Stoops. I got to tour the whole campus. I sat in on all of the meetings in the pre-game and all of that. That was good. I got to meet a bunch of the other recruits. The game was really cool," Wort said as he summed up his weekend.

Wort made a commitment to OU back in April after he came up to see the campus with his father, but this time around his mom was also able to come and see what it was all about.

"My mom was there for the first time," Wort explained. "It was her very first college game. It was the first time that she had seen OU since I committed."

"She really liked it and she is just real happy for me."

Wort mentioned that he got to sit down in the meetings, and watching the guys get busy made him anxious to wear the crimson and cream.

"It was cool sitting down and watching the guys get to work. I can't wait to get in there," Wort stated.

Wort also had the time to hang out with some of his future teammates like Jaydan Bird, Drew Allen, and Marcus Trice.

"We all kind of just hanging out and having fun and got to know each other better. It is going to be cool to get to play together."

Wort had a good time at the game and with the players, but he was also pretty impressed with the campus.

"It was pretty much a combination of everything," Wort responded when asked about a favorite point of interest. "I like how it is all close together. It makes things easier for them. They have the dining hall, the dorms, and where you work out is all pretty close.

"The workout facility is really impressive."

When asked if there were any other points of interest from his weekend, Wort wanted to point out how well the players are fed.

"The food was great this weekend. I can't wait to get up there for that," Wort said with a laugh.
