RECRUITING: Florida DE considering visit to Norman

Ft. Lauderdale defensive end/linebacker Tavares Gooden says he could help OU get back to the top

JH: How did you finish up your season?

TG: "I think I finished with 59 tackles and nine sacks on the year. I played linebacker the first couple of game and then I moved to defensive end. I am not sure which position the best because I think I can play outside linebacker pretty well. I feel I can play either position. College coaches are recruiting me at both spots."

JH: What is your visit schedule?

TG: "I am going to Ohio State this weekend and my only visit set up at this time is with Miami (1-17). I am going to LSU (1-24). I am still talking to Kansas State, Oklahoma and Tennessee."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

TG: "They are a pretty good school. They lost some games they shouldn't have lost this year or they would have won the national championship. I don't hold one or two games against them because that can happen to anybody, but they were good enough to win the national title. Sometimes one game comes into my thinking, but for the most part I think I can go into their program and help them or I think about how I can help them. Plus, Oklahoma has been right there chasing the national title the last couple of years and I think that I might be able to put them over the hump."

JH: Do you have a favorite right now?

TG: "Ohio State and Miami are my top two schools right now."
