RECRUITING: Juco safety says it's a done deal

Junior college safety Donte Nicholson says he's made a decision, and it's final. Is it OU or ASU?

DONTE NICHOLSON, SS, 6-2, 210, 4.42, (MT. SAN ANTONIO JC) Walnut, CA.:

JH: I know that you met with Coach Brent Venables of Oklahoma tonight. Can you tell us how that visit went?

DN: "I didn't want to let it out, but I am going to be a Sooner."

JH: From what we had heard recently that was a change of heart wasn't it?

DN: "I have been on two other trips since Oklahoma and after all my trips I didn't feel like I felt when I got home from Oklahoma. Right when I got home I told my mom that I felt best at Oklahoma. What it came down to was me feeling comfortable at Oklahoma."

JH: Did you commit recently to Arizona State?

DN: "What happened when I committed to Arizona State is that I came up short on my hours to get out at semester and when I checked into it I still could have gone to Arizona State at their semester and gone through spring football. However, after I made that announcement I just didn't feel good about it and I just kept thinking about Oklahoma.

"When Coach (Brent) Venables came to see me today it just reinforced my thinking about Oklahoma. We came up with an academic plan that can also get me into OU at semester as well and that was the final straw. I have really wanted to be a Sooner since I returned from my visit there and now it is a done deal. I am going to sign with OU. Now I will just get after the few hours and I should be able to enroll at OU in time for the second semester."
