Jolly pleased with early college options

Recruiting coverage at SoonersIllustrated continues as we look to bring fans the latest in Oklahoma recruiting news. Today, we take a look at wide receiver Jordan Jolly from Fort Bend Elkins. Things are looking good for him so check out what he had to say in this SI update.

Coming into spring football, Fort Bend Elkins wide receiver Jordan Jolly will have a few choices on colleges. And while he still open to more interest, he is quite pleased where his recruitment is right now.

"I have three offers right now from Houston Baylor, and most recently Purdue," Jolly said. "I have other schools that are recruiting me right now as well. But with these offers and the schools recruiting me, I am happy with my options right now."

Those "other" programs are Illinois, Texas Tech, Oregon, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oregon State. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Jolly does feel like more offers are soon to come and wants to make sure and weigh all options before making the call.

As for his next offer, Jolly feels like the Fighting Illini will be next up as he said that that coaching staff is showing heavy interest. But, his favorite is from the Big 12 Conference.

"I would have to say I favor Texas Tech a little right now," Jolly said. "I am a receiver and I want to get the ball. They (Red Raiders) pass a lot up there and we (Elkins) are in the spread offense which is one of the things I am looking for."

To date, Jolly has visited Houston and Baylor, and looks for Purdue to come as well. But, there is one school that has started showing some interest and it has Jolly wanting to look into it a bit more.

"A couple of days ago, I got some things from Oklahoma," Jolly said. "I have been invited to a practice and to their camp. That is one camp that I want to make."

Jolly has not begun an extensive research of the schools he is interested in, but looks to take care of that this off-season. He had 35 catches for 718 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior.
