Recruiting coverage at SoonersIllustrated is still going as we look to bring fans the latest in Oklahoma recruiting news. Today, we take a look at a recent offer recipient, athlete Justin Gilbert from Huntsville, Texas. He has a couple of visits lined up. Is Oklahoma one of them? Find out in this SI update.

Having multiple college offers is always a good thing for an athlete going through the recruiting process. Now, with nine offers under his belt, Huntsville athlete Justin Gilbert. And while he is more than excited about all of the offers he holds, the latest one had him

"I got an offer from Oklahoma about a week (last Monday) ago," Gilbert said. "I got the call when I was on my way to Baylor. I was happy, but I tried to stay calm because I was still in the car."

His other offers are from programs like Utah, SMU, Baylor, Colorado, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, and TCU. For the moment, it seems as though the Sooners hold the top spot, but Gilbert went ahead and rounded out his early Top 5.

"Oklahoma is my top choice. I like the fact that they have a championship tradition and I could see myself being part of that," Gilbert said. "But Oklahoma State, Colorado, Baylor, and Texas A&M are the others."

The 6-foot, 180-pound Gilbert has already traveled to Waco to check out the Bears' program, but he has others already lined up. Next Friday, he touches down in Norman to check out the campus of Oklahoma and will stay in town Saturday for the spring game.

Then the next week, Baton Rouge is the destination to check out LSU

At Huntsville, Gilbert has played both ways, but primarily lining up at the receiver position. He said that he will still take some snaps on offense, but defense may be his primary position for his senior season.

"I played more receiver this past year, but I think my coach will use me on defense more next season," Gilbert said. "That is okay with me, I can play wherever."

According to Gilbert, Oklahoma is recruiting him as an athlete.

"The coaches were telling me that I could play in their defense as a cornerback," Gilbert said. "But coach (James) Patton told me that I could also work out as a wide receiver as well. They also said that I could return punt and kickoffs for them too."

So what could Gilbert bring to a college program?

"On offense, I feel like I can bring plenty of touchdowns," Gilbert said. "But as far as defense, I could lock down some receivers."

Gilbert said that he not too sure when he will make a commitment, but would like to do it over the summer, or before the start of the football season.
