Bell makes the call

As we continue to bring the Oklahoma fans recruiting coverage, there seems to be a new player in the fold. Check it out in this SI update.

In a recent interview with Bishop Carroll Catholic (KS) quarterback Blake Bell, the idea was to take multiple visits before making the call.

"After I take all of my visits, I'll have a better idea about when I want to commit," Bell said recently. "I'll know more and narrow it down some. I don't want to have to deal with it (recruiting) during my senior season."

It seems as though there really wasn't a narrow down process at all. In fact, it is apparent that Oklahoma had exactly what he was looking for. Before he could schedule and confirm the trips to Missouri, Kansas, Georgia, Tennessee, and Notre Dame, he went ahead and shut the process down with a commitment to the Sooners.

The 6-foot-6, 218-pound Bell had over 20 offers and had made a name for himself this past season throwing for 3,200 yards and 38 touchdowns. He also ran for more than 300 yards and had 12 rushing touchdowns after spending his sophomore season at wide out.

On the recruiting hunt for Bell was quarterbacks coach Josh Heupel, whom Bell said kept constant contact with him throughout the process.
