Clay is a Sooner!

The Oklahoma Sooners got a huge boost from towards their 2010 recruiting efforts when super talented running back Brennan Clay announced his intentions to join the Sooner family on Friday evening...

Brennan Clay, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound running back from Scripps Ranch High in Cali. has just announced that he has made a verbal commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners.

"The good news is I am officially an Oklahoma Sooner," exclaimed and excited Clay!

As a 2008 junior at San Diego (Calif.) Scripps Ranch, Brennan Clay became the first player in San Diego history to receive and rush for over 1,000 yards. He had 1,055 yards receiving on 70 catches (six TDs) and 1,486 yards rushing on 170 carries (27 TDs). Clay also had two touchdowns off kick-returns. He says he can bench 310-pounds, squat 425 and has a 33-inch vertical jump.

He has started for Scripps Ranch HS in San Diego at running back since he was a freshman in 2006.

The Scout.com four-star prospect also runs track and says he may consider doing both sports in college. He runs the 100m (10.91), 200m (22.1) and long jumps (22'11").

Clay plans on majoring in business and minoring in communications. He reports a 3.8 core GPA and took the SAT on May 2.

Clay is the eleventh player to join the OU fold for the class of 2010 and joins Blake Bell, Eddrick Loften, Tyrus Thompson and Bronson Irwin as the OU commits who are rated amongst the Scout.com Top 150.
