RECRUITING: Big 'Mo' names a frontrunner

Illinois giant defensive tackle Lawrence 'Mo' Dampeer talks about his recruiting situation

JH: Did you visit anywhere this weekend? Also, how do you feel you played in the All-Star game last weekend in San Antonio?

MD: " I didn't go anywhere this weekend. I did pretty well in the game, but we lost that game and that disappointed me. I will probably go to Ohio State this weekend."

JH: How is basketball season going?

MD: "I am putting up 15 points and 12 rebounds per game. Basketball is my first love, but I am not tall enough to play on the college level."

JH: What is the latest in recruiting?

MD: "We have dropped Tennessee because the guy who was recruiting me (Mike Barry) resigned. I am going to visit Ohio State (11-17) and I am going to Purdue on January 31st."

JH: Do you have a leader right now?

MD: "Illinois and Oklahoma were both very nice. Both were very respectful and both were great schools. I like Oklahoma a lot and they are probably the frontrunner right now. I will base all my other visits on that one right now."

JH: Did you enjoy playing in the Army All-Star game?

MD: "It was fun and enjoyable. I met a lot of people and I really got to work on my skills. I learned a little bit about what it is going to take to be good at the next level. I learned a little bit what it is all about being on your own a little bit. So, it was very, very nice."
