RECRUITING: Schuler wants to make sure

South Dakota OL and Oklahoma commit Ryan Schuler talks about his reasoning for taking more trips

JH: Are you playing basketball this winter?

RS: "I decided to take the winter off and lift a little bit to get ready for next fall. I am looking to come to Oklahoma at 280 to 285. Right now I am a little on the slim side at 270, but I think I can put on 15 pounds of solid weight. I think that is very possible."

JH: Did you visit Iowa last weekend?

RS: "No, I am visiting Iowa this upcoming weekend."

JH: Are you still committed to OU?

RS: "Oh, definitely. I am just kind of poking around and making sure that is the right place for me. I don't have any doubts about OU, but I am just making sure that it is a perfect fit for me and if I don't take a look at any other school I don't have anything to compare it to.

"This is a big decision for me and I have to make sure that I am making the right decision. Oklahoma is a long way from home and I don't want to get down there and then think that I should be some place else. I want to be totally sure I am making the right decision. After I take another visit or two I will have a great idea what some other colleges are all about.

"I am very confident that nothing will change my mind about OU, but I am looking for a little reinforcement I guess. The coaches appreciate what I am trying to do because they realize they are making a five year commitment in me as well and they want me to be absolutely sure in my decision."

JH: So you feel you are still going to sign with OU?

RS: "That is pretty much correct."

JH: Have you heard from Oklahoma lately?

RS:" "Coach Wilson called me tonight. He is dropping in Thursday afternoon to chat a little."
