"It was not really unexpected," Reed said of the heavy interest. "Looking on the internet I had a pretty good season compared to some of the other defensive ends in my class. It was unexpected, but I did not think it would happen this quick though."
Reed believes that he is a high motor player that brings a certain swagger every time he se3ts foot on the field.
"I think I bring a lot of energy to a team. I am really confident on the football field and I talk a lot on the football field. There ain't nobody going to get away from me I will put it that much. I have speed and strength and a lot of confidence in my abilities."
Back at the Scout.com Combine in Austin Reed admitted that he held an early affinity towards the Longhorns and the Sooners, but now that he has received all of the early attention things could be opening up a little.
"OU offered me and they said that they will be back in my junior year to see me some more," Reed explained. "I have not really heard too much from Texas at all since their camp."
"Oklahoma and Texas are some good schools and they are some of the closest schools, but they are not really my favorites and I can't really think of my top school at the moment right now, but I am still looking hard at those schools."
"I think I am just going to be looking for the school that fits me the best. I am going to be looking at who they have coming and who they have currently on their roster."
As a junior, Reed racked up 75 tackles and nine sacks.
