RECRUITING: Lewisville OL still waiting for offer

Lewisville, Texas OL and Virginia commit Ian-Yates Cunningham talks about his interest in the Sooners

I spoke with offensive lineman Ian Yates-Cunningham of Lewisville (Hebron HS), Texas Thursday night and he that OU still hasn't contacted him about visiting this weekend.

"I do have an interest in visiting OU this weekend if they offer me a scholarship and opportunity to visit," said Cunningham. "At this point that hasn't happened, so I really don't know if they have an legitimate interest in me or not.

"My teammate and great friend Lewis Baker has contacted OU and told them that I would have an interest in visiting them if they desired. What the OU coaches told him what is that they were waiting to see what happened with a couple of other defensive linemen and that they would call me on Friday."

So if OU called when you visit on Friday?

"I know it would be on short notice, but I think I would take them up on it if they offered a scholarship. I am not going to go up there without a scholarship on the table. I am committed to Virginia, so I am not going to take a visit, which might put that scholarship at risk without an legitimate offer on the table. I think OU is a great school, but they have never shown much interest in me, so I haven't thought much about them.

"However, I could get real interested in them because Lewis is going there and actually we have several of our friends who are going to college there. So, you actually know as much as I do about Oklahoma's interest because I haven't heard much from then at all and I certainly haven't heard anything from them about this weekend."

I personally don't feel OU will bring him in this weekend.
