A 49-14 win over Dallas Jesuit on Friday night brought their record to 5-3 on the season and 3-1 overall in the District.
Scout.com five-star defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat had three sacks and batted down a pass in the victory, but was quick to give the credit back to his teammates and their level of preparedness coming in to the tilt.
"It was a great win," Jeffcoat said. "It is great to get it moving in the right direction. But we have a great offensive line, some great linebackers and a real good team, so we expect to play really well."
Jeffcoat, who was recently named as the homecoming king, believes now that the team is headed in the right direction they are hopeful to end the season on positive note with a push in to the playoffs.
"We just need to keep working hard in practice every day. We need to keep focused and keep moving in a positive direction."
He has been offered by who's who of college football's best programs. He has too many offers to really list, but he still tries to keep focused on the season first and then recruiting.
"You just have to try to stay balanced. You have to put the season first and then deal with recruiting."
While he is not eager to talk about recruiting he does want a school that also puts the focus on what the student athletes will do in the classroom.
"When it comes down to it I will be looking for superior academics and a solid football program."
Jeffcoat will be heading on an unofficial visit to watch the Red River Rivalry on Saturday.
"Yeah, I will be there," Jeffcoat informed. "It is going to be a good one."
