Loften Heading to Norman

Eddrick Loften was one of the first players to make his commitment to Oklahoma, and this weekend he will be taking his official visit to Soonerland to watch the Sooners take on K-State.

An off week on the prep schedule gave Eddrick Loften, a 6-foot-0, 207-pound safety from Irving Nimitz High in Texas the chance to schedule and take his official visit to Oklahoma this weekend.

"Yeah, I'm heading down right now," Loften informed. "I'm just ready to get down there and chill with the team and come (together) with the players."

Loften has been in Norman for the Red-White spring game and he attended a session of OU's summer camp.

He is excited to get back out to Norman and enjoy the gameday atmosphere. He feels that there is not better place to be for a game.

And the fact that this game is scheduled on Halloween Night could make it even more magical and Loften should definitely enjoy the ambience.

"When you go up there for a game it is like the whole town shuts down and goes to the game," Loften said when interviewed for an upcoming article in Sooners Illustrated Magazine.

"It is a great football town!"

Loften, a Scout.com four-star prospect, has helped lead Nimitz to a 7-2 start this season with one regular season game left to play.
