James Hale had a chance to speak with DeCatur, Illinois defensive tackle Lawrence 'Moe' Dampeer just moments after annoncing he was headed to Norman.
"I prayed about it all night and the good Lord led me in the Sooners direction," said Dampeer just moments after signing with the Sooners. "I always felt good about Oklahoma. I feel like coach (Jackie) Shipp can lead me in a good direction as person and a player, with the person part more impotant."
"Okahoma's winning tradition and national exposure, along with the chance to play alongside Tommie harris was just too much to pass up."
Dampeer chose the Sooners over Illinois. He also visited Ohio State officially. Dampeer is ranked as the second best defensive tackle in the nation by TheInsiders.com.
