Stills Prepared to Make the Call

At Sooners Illustrated, we look to bring you the most up-to-date information on Sooner targets as they tell it. We talked briefly with 5-star athlete Kenny Stills just a few days before his big commitment announcement. Check out what he had to say.

This Friday will be the day for La Costa Canyon (CA), wide receiver Kenny Stills to make his decision. For many days now, Stills has been somewhat laying low on doing interviews and updates.

But, as he was leaving his annual sports banquet, he placed a call with Sooners Illustrated to touch base.

"I just wanted to say that this time away has been great. I'm relaxed and I feel like the pressure is off of me right now," Stills said. "I'm real happy that I have made my decision and I am glad that I got to go through the recruiting process. It's a decision that I am more than prepared to make."

And so it is. On Friday, December 18, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound Stills and Eastlake (CA) defensive back Tony Jefferson will go public at 9 p.m. Pacific.

What has been publicly known is that Oklahoma and Florida are the finalist for his services. Of course, for Stills the decision has already been made. And in his eyes, he mind is set and the choice is solid.

"This week has been clear of coaches calling. It's been great," Stills said. "I have no more visits lined up and no coaches coming by as well as I am done with all of that. At this point, there is nothing that would change my mind as I am 100 percent sold on the decision I am going to make."

For months now, Stills has voiced the pros and cons of both the Sooners and the Gators. And with the long, drawn out silence, it has allowed him the time to focus on what matters most to him.

"It's the people and how comfortable I feel around them. From the time I got there, I felt the good vibes," Stills said. "I feel like the school I choose will be proud and I will not let them down.

"I look forward to bringing some of this California personality to the campus and plan to be a force on the field as well."
