Two big-time high school prospects set to visit during the Kansas and Texas games in Norman

The national status of the OU men's basketball team has certainly allowed them to get in on some of the top prep players in the country.

On the Kansas weekend (2-23), the Sooners will take a shot at shooting guard Daniel Gibson (6'3, 180) of Houston (Jones HS), Texas, who is one of the top five junior guards in the country. Gibson is currently ranked as the third best junior shooting guard in the country. OU trails Texas and he has attended several Longhorn games. However, OU is in the hunt and will get the first official visit from him. Gibson will also visit Arkansas, KU and Georgia Tech. Gibson is currently averaging 27 points a game.

The Sooners are also very much in the running for Alexander Johnson (6'10, 225) of Bridgton Academy in North Bridgton Maine. The Sooners will probably place Longar Longar there and hope to interest Johnson coming back in return. Johnson originally signed with Georgia out of high school out of Atlanta, Georgia, but didn't have the grades so he went to the prep school. Now, Johnson has opened his recruiting up and he is considering OU as well as Georgia. The Sooners will bring Johnson during Texas weekend (3-8).

Johnson will sign during the second signing period, while Gibson is a recruit for next year's class.

Also, for the second signing period the Sooners are working hard to find a junior college shooting guard. Donnell Allick (6'3) of Seward County C.C., KS is a prospect the Sooners are considering. Also Michael McFadden (6'4) of San Jose CC, CA and Malcolm Manier (6'3) of Cincinnati State J.C.
