Stoops: "It Was Positive"

The Sooners hit the field for yet another scrimmage last Saturday, their final weekend one before this weekend's spring game, and Sooners Illustrated was there during this week's interviews to catch what OU head coach Bob Stoops, as well as offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson, had to say about their outing.

First, here's what the head man thought about their performance.

OU head coach Bob Stoops:

On how it went overall—I thought it went well for the most part like they usually do for a head coach.

On if any group stood out at all—Oh, I'm not going to comment on. Just overall it was good. It was positive.

On the injury situation—There wasn't. That was positive, so that was good.

And now here's what the guy who calls the plays on the offensive side of the ball had to say about the outing.

OU offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson:

On how the scrimmage went for the offense as a unit—Well, we got going, and we just [didn't finish]. I thought the defense did a nice job stopping us in drives. We got drives going and didn't [finish]. You know, it ws one of those stat days where you had good stats but didn't score any points. So, that was, you know, we just had some bad play calls, a busted play, a guy went the wrong way, a penalty, whatever. Then, third-and-long, we don't get it, and we punt it. But we'd go first down, first down, first down, nothing, first down, nothing, first down, first down, you know, so, but it was good. We're doing good.

On their attitude during the scrimmage—It's been a good spring. We just need to finish. We had a great attitude. A lot of guys are getting more reps, which is good, and we're staying healthy, and so it's going pretty good.
