Capel's Sooners Have More News Regarding '10

On top of the important news on the recruiting trail for the Sooners, there's something else we've figured out with regards to the basketball team.

They now have their date and opponent set up for the 2010 Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series.

The Big 12 and Pac-10 Conferences have announced the dates and matchups for the 2010 Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series in men's basketball. Oklahoma will play at Arizona on Sunday, Dec. 5.

The Sooners are 5-1 all-time against an Arizona program that has competed in 25 of the last 26 NCAA Tournaments. Last year, OU beat the Wildcats 79-62 in Norman.

The majority of the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series' games are scheduled for December 2-5, with three taking place outside the four-day series window. The matchups mirror the ones that took place in the fall of 2009, with the road team from a year ago hosting this season.

The Big 12 held a 9-3 advantage in Hardwood Series contests last season and leads the three-year series, 20-16. In 2009, the 12 contests drew more than 110,000 fans. In the three years of the event, more than 355,000 fans have come through the turnstiles.

The Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series will be in its fourth year after starting competition during the 2007-08 season. Additional components of the 2010 series, including the start times and television broadcast information, will be announced at a later date.
