Campers met at the OU intramural fields where they ran through a series of drills collectively by position. Wide receivers worked on their cuts, as well as ball security, and offensive linemen worked on their blocking assignments, D-backs worked on pursuit, etc. The grade-by-grade competition heated up later when they split and hit their positions once again for another round of position drills before capping off the first part of the 2010 high school football camp.
One note is that quarterback commit Kendal Thompson was crisp with the passes he threw in drills.
Campers met in the Everest Training Center for the nightcap, which featured agility and timing drills. OU running backs coach Cale Gundy fueled an intense workout during the evening session in order close the first night of camp on a high note.
And the events will pick up again tomorrow, with sessions three, four and five, the first of those starting at 9:15 a.m.
Stay tuned for the second day of camp, which will feature pictures and in-depth coverage regarding the day's events, including the highs and lows of day two.
