The Sooner men's hoops squad will bring in several talented junior prospects on unofficial visits this weekend for their big battle with Texas.
Power forward Darnell Jackson (6'8) of Northwest Classen HS in Oklahoma City continues to grow on the Sooner coaching staff and he has been offered by the Sooners. OU and Kansas appear to be the frontrunners for Jackson.
Quentin Chaney (6'6) of Tulsa Washington is another very talented junior in-state the Sooners like. The OU football team is also looking at Chaney as a wide receiver.
Charles Thomas, a 6'7 forward from Jackson, Mississippi, is another who the Sooners have offered that will be in Norman.
OU is beginning to settle in on what JUCO's they are seriously going to get after. Fred Marshall (6'4) of Coffeyville Junior College is a slasher much like Ebi Ere that OU really likes.
However, OU's may like Jason Williams (6'2) of the College of Southern Idaho better, because he is a combo guard who is a pure shooter from the outside.
Back to the high school ranks, the Sooners like Jimmy Tabias out of Florida better than the JUCO's. He is a 6'4 guard with an excellent shooting touch, but with the ability to take his defender off the dribble.
Also don't rule out Donnell Allick (6'3 ) of Seward County in Kansas, who the Sooners are still keeping in touch with.
OU has backed off of Carlos Hurt (6'3) of Wabash Valley in Illinois.
The Sooner women are still very much in the running for 6'4 post Elysangela Gomez of Eastern JC in Oklahoma and Tiffany Thompson (6'2) of Trinity Valley. OU likes Thompson better and currently lead Baylor for her services.
