Meet the Sooners Day Is Set

It's almost that time again this year, so OU has announced when this year's event will take place.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Meet the Sooners Day, the annual event for thousands Oklahoma football fans to meet and get autographs from OU players and coaches, has been slated for Friday, Aug. 6.

The event will take place at the rugby practice fields west of Lloyd Noble Center. Gates will open at approximately 10 a.m., for OG&E Sooner Kids Club members and at approximately 10:30 a.m., for the general public.

The OG&E Sooners Kids Club aspect of the event has changed for this year. Membership applications will begin July 5, but will be halted at 5 p.m., on July 30. In a change from previous years, there will be no sign-ups on Meet the Sooners Day itself. The membership application process will resume after Meet the Sooners Day for those individuals who still want to sign up for the club's benefits.

At Meet the Sooners Day, Sooner Kids Club members will be required to check in at the registration table and pick up their membership card and gift bag.

All fans are permitted to bring just one item for autograph per person with no exceptions.

Admission to Meet the Sooners Day is free and open to the public.

The event is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.
