AD Look Back: Part II

Here's a look inside the second historic moment of former OU running back Adrian Peterson's career that Sooners Illustrated provides you this week.

The year: 2005

The game: vs. Southern Cal; Jan. 4, 2005

The situation: OU was 12-0 heading into the national championship game while Peterson had an impressive feat of his own going on.

The outcome: Although the Sooners got smoked 55-19 in the title game against USC's Reggie Bush and company, that didn't take away from Peterson capping off a record season. He closed the 2004-05 campaign on that night with a school record and NCAA freshman record 1,925 rushing yards. Although it was only his second game of the season rushing for less than 100 yards, Peterson still finished with 82 on 25 carries in that contest. He started off the year with a string of nine straight games of 100+ yards until it was eventually snapped in a game vs. Nebraska where he had only 58 yards.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's look back into Peterson's career at OU.
