AD Look Back: Part V

Here's a look inside the fifth and final historic moment of former OU running back Adrian Peterson's career that Sooners Illustrated provides for you this week.

The year: 2007

The game: vs. Boise State in Glendale, Ariz., Jan. 1, 2007

The situation: 35-35 at the beginning of overtime in the Fiesta Bowl between the Sooners and Broncos

The outcome: Just minutes after Boise State pulled the famous Hook and Ladder play, Peterson bursted through the line of scrimmage on the first play of overtime for a 25-yard touchdown run to give OU a 42-35 lead. It became the last carry of a brilliant career when the Broncos pulled the Statue of Liberty play moments later on a two-point conversion that gave them the 43-42 win over the Sooners. Peterson finished his career on that day with 4,045 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns on the ground.
