Ranking the Most Important on Offense: No. 17

It's time for No. 17 on this year's list of most crucial offensive players.

No. 17:

Player: Tavaris Jeffries

Position: Backup right guard

The rundown: Jeffries is a load, listed at 6-foot-4, 309 lb. Last year in the Sooners' makeshift line, he saw action in six games, starting for the first time in a contest at Miami. And he had an exceptionally good performance in the Red River Rivalry game a year ago, racking up nine knockdowns. He's a senior that came in as a JUCO transfer from Coahoma Community College and started a total of three games last season.

Expectations for 2010: At 309 lb., he has 29 lb. on starter Tyler Evans, but he is still listed in the reserve role. With that said, he figures to push Evans at the right guard position, something that should really help that side of the O-line. He has the tools to step in and perform if need be at some point.

No. 24: Bronson Irwin

No. 23: Josh Aladenoye

No. 22: Brandon Crow

No. 21: Cameron Kenney

No. 20: Brian Lepak

No. 19: Trent Ratterree

No. 18: Drew Allen
