Sizing Up the Non-Conference Schedule

4. Utah StateThis one's pretty self-explanatory. The Aggies don't quite have program prestige, as they are under .500 all time at 483-493. Utah State, out of the Western Athletic Conference, has only six bowl appearances, going 1-5 for a .167 winning percentage. They have 11 conference titles and only two consensus All-Americans. On top of all that, even though it's the home opener, Sooner fans can't get too excited beyond that considering OU destroyed them 54-3 back in 2007.

3. Air ForceThe Sooners and Falcons will face off in the third week of the 2010 season when Air Force comes to Norman. It's the second part of a home-and-home series that dates back to 2001 when OU traveled to Air Force and dominated them 44-3. The Falcons have made three straight bowl appearances in the Armed Forces Bowl, losing to both the Cal Bears and Houston Cougars in 2007 and 2008, respectively, before defeating the Cougars 47-20 last season. So they have been pretty good recently, going 25-14 in the last three years.

2. CincinnatiEveryone knows the story. The Bearcats are riding high, and then they lose their Coach of the Year in Brian Kelly to the Notre Dame prior to ultimately losing their game against Florida in the Sugar Bowl. But won't they don't lose going into this year are some talented guys and a whole lot of swagger from last year, and they will certainly be jacked up when the Sooners come into town. It's the Sooners' only road non-conference game, and by no means will it be a cakewalk.

1. Florida StateEven without legendary coach Bobby Bowden, FSU brings a storied past to Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium when it arrives in the second week of the season. The Seminoles have rights to two national titles, first in 1993 and later in 1999, a year before the Sooners defeated them in the 2000 Orange Bowl to deny them consecutive titles. So, it obviously figures to be a tough contest in the second week of the season.
