Season Opener's Slated for 6 p.m.

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma's season-opening football game on Sept. 4, against Utah State has been set for a 6 p.m., kickoff. The game will be televised on a pay-per-view basis by Fox Sports Net.

Details on the PPV purchasing procedure and the broadcast team will be released at a later date.

Utah State was tabbed for a fourth-place finish in the Western Athletic Conference's 2010 preseason poll. Boise State, Nevada and Fresno State were picked ahead of USU.

OU currently has 799 victories and is trying to become just the eighth program in college football history to win 800 games. The school also has 68 consecutive sellouts, just one shy of tying the school record.

The single game ticket sale is in progress now. A limited number remain for the opener at $52 per ticket. Those tickets are available at or by calling 405/325-2424 or 1-800-GoOU (4668).

Oklahoma's players report for the 2010 season on Wednesday. The first practice is set for Thursday with media day and Meet the Sooners Day scheduled for Friday.
