Player: Austin Box
Position: Backup MIKE linebacker
The rundown: Box has played in 20 games throughout the past two seasons, including 10 each year, starting six of those. Last year his biggest game was a nine tackle performance vs. Idaho State. That was part of 33 tackles he accumulated over the course of the year. As a 6-foot-2, 232 lb. junior, he's certainly not lacking from a size or familiarity standpoint.
Expectations for 2010: Many expect him to move into a starting spot, but right now he is still listed behind Tom Wort at the middle linebacker position. But plan for Box to see a lot of playing time nonetheless. He'll be ready to step in there and be the starter should that be the case.
