"I feel like I'm getting better," Tthe Lynn Haven, Fla., native said. "The way they've been coaching me, trying to get me to be good in all areas of the game more than just running the ball."
In his three years with the Rebels, Davis has only been in top three in yards gained once, and that was in his freshman year. Since, Davis has found himself searching for carries behind the likes of Bolden and even Jeff Scott recently.
Although Coach Houston Nutt said his team is behind on what he expected for the spring, he was happy with the play of his running backs.
"Oh man," the fourth-year Rebel head coach said. "(Enrique) and Devin Thomas running the ball looked outstanding. They ran hard, ran with their eyes, were very physical."
"I feel like there's always room for improvement," he said. "I've come a long way and I still feel like I have more ways to go."
Ole Miss first-year offensive coordinator David Lee was pleased with the running game Saturday.
"That's the best we've run the football this spring," Lee said."I thought (Enrique Davis) looked really good today."
Competition has been fierce for the top job in the Rebel backfield, but Davis views it only as a positive.
"I feel like all of us make us better," he said. "Most of these guys I've been with since my freshman year or at least had a year with. Everyone has something to bring to the table. We all feed off each other."
As the quarterback situations remains fluid, Davis said he see's good things in all of them.
"To be honest with you, all those boys have been looking good out there to me. Coach is going to put anyone out there who they feel like can get the job done. I just enjoy watching them, to be honest."
Davis said as far as goals, there's only one goal he thinks about as the 2011 season approaches.
"The goal is to just go out there and get a championship," he said. "We gotta go get us a ring. I feel like we've got the talent to go out there and get it, and that's what we're on the same path to do."
