DAYTON, Ohio - Ole Miss cut a double-digit deficit to five points with 10 minutes left, but it could not complete the comeback in a 62-50 loss at Dayton Friday night.

Freshman Jarvis Summers scored 14 points to lead the Rebels, while Terrance Henry added 10.

The Rebels (9-4) trailed 25-23 before Chris Johnson's buzzer-beating 3-pointer gave Dayton a five-point lead at the half.

Behind Johnson's hot shooting, the Flyers (10-4) extended their lead to double digits through most of the second half. Ole Miss made a spurt to bring it to 45-40 at the 10:00 mark before Dayton answered with another run.

Ole Miss was out-rebounded 43-33 in the contest without its best rebounder, Murphy Holloway, who missed the game with a high ankle sprain he suffered in the second half against Middle Tennessee State on Dec. 21.

Reginald Buckner contributed six points and a team-high nine rebounds and two blocks for the Rebels.

Johnson led Dayton with 16 points, and Paul Williams added 12.

Ole Miss suffered its third straight loss, all away from home. The Rebels return to Oxford for Tuesday's non-conference season finale against SMU.
