Ole Miss has received a commitment from Spring Valley, N.Y., forward Terry Brutus, per his Twitter account. Ole Miss sources confirmed the commitment.

As reported by The Ole Miss Spirit Thursday, Ole Miss felt good about its position entering his visit to Oxford this weekend, and that a commitment could be forthcoming. Brutus toured the facilities and met with coaches and players Friday.

Once he signs, Brutus will be the fourth addition (and sixth overall) this spring, joining guards Marshall Henderson and Derrick Millinghaus and forward Jason Carter. Ole Miss signed guards Martavious Newby and Anthony Cortesia in the fall.

A face-up four, Brutus can play the three. He's a good rebounder, according to sources, and a year spent at Massanutten Military Academy this season served him well. He added around 30 pounds of muscle at prep school. He was short of his core classes in high school, hence the stop at Massanutten. He has been described as Jae Crowder-like. Crowder is a forward at Marquette.

Ole Miss was in need of another big. Forwards Murphy Holloway and Reginald Buckner are set to graduate following the 2012-13 season. Ole Miss finished 20-14 a year ago, its season ending with a first-round loss in the National Invitation Tournament. Terrance Henry and Steadman Short have since graduated.

The 6-foot-6 Brutus has four years to play four. Drake, West Virginia, George Washington and Charlotte were among the schools to have shown interest.
