A three-star prospect according to, Buchanan, who is in Oxford for Ole Miss' two-day camp this weekend, will choose one of Florida, Ole Miss or Alabama next week. Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee, Oklahoma State and Mississippi State are among his other offers.

He said he'll make his choice "sometime between Monday and Wednesday. Maybe Thursday."

"I've seen every program I need to see. I feel comfortable with every single one," he said. "I want to get it out of the way as soon as possible and help recruit guys to the school I'm going to. Next week's a good time for it."

Buchanan has visited all three of his finalists. He arrived a day early for camp at Ole Miss on Thursday with his family, spending the day touring the facilities and visiting with Ole Miss co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dan Werner.

"Just take an unofficial official visit, I guess. The only times I've come here was for the spring game and maybe talk to (Ole Miss head) Coach (Hugh) Freeze and Coach Werner. That's it," Buchanan said.

"I haven't had the tour of the facilities and academic facilities and everything. Mainly, I wanted to compare that to Florida, ‘cause I just got doing that. I wanted to do that at Ole Miss. It was impressive. I was with (Werner) pretty much all day, throughout the whole tour; Coach Freeze and everybody throughout the whole day. I loved it."

Buchanan has gained a comfort level with the new coach staff, headed by Freeze. Freeze was hired in December to replace Houston Nutt, who was fired after four seasons and a 2-10 record in 2011.

"I feel comfortable. I love, honestly, the new staff. I have a better relationship than with the last one, that's for sure," Buchanan said. "I feel comfortable with everybody. I love Coach Werner, Coach Freeze. I want to be with Werner a lot, being as I'm a quarterback. That's probably who I'll spend most of my time with.

"It's been a huge change. Everybody on the new staff is passionate about their job. This is where they want to be, and they've got the vision of where Ole Miss is going to be four to five years from now. That's one of the things that's intriguing. Everyone's passionate about their job here."

Buchanan admitted Ole Miss fell behind Florida and Alabama last summer, when he visited Ole Miss for its summer camp. However, Freeze and Co. quickly gained ground. Thursday's visit certainly helped.

"They took notice of me from the very beginning," Buchanan said of the new staff. "I love the staff here. I came here last summer and it was a totally different feeling. It almost felt dead coming to the summer camp. They weren't as serious as Alabama and Florida were about me.

"(Alabama head) Coach (Nick) Saban came up, and the first time I threw for him, talked to me. That's not the case anymore. It's a totally different staff. That's what I love about it."

Buchanan plans to leave Oxford tomorrow. Buchanan passed for over 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns in his junior season at Jackson Preparatory School. He's rated the No. 30 quarterback overall for the class of 2013 by
