Where They Going?

Miami ATH Charles Williams, Memphis OL Vincent Hunter and Memphis DE Jason Carr visited Ole Miss for Saturday's camp. All seemed to have open minds about their recruitment.

Williams has over 25 Division-I scholarship offers. Carr and Hunter are also in high demand.

Carr is committed to Tennessee, but is "still looking around" to make sure of his decision. Williams is wide open, as is Hunter.

What they have in common is that Ole Miss is on their lists and they all attended Saturday's camp.

"Recruiting is going fine. A lot of people are calling me, that's for sure," Williams said. "It's getting a little tiresome. Right now, I'd say the schools that stand out right now are South Carolina, Arkansas, Indiana, West Virginia, USF, Clemson and Ole Miss."

Rebel DB Coach Wesley McGriff is recruiting Williams and coaxed him into taking a visit despite Williams' lack of knowledge about the university.

"I don't know much about Ole Miss right now, but when I get home I'll do a lot of research," Williams said. "I'm looking for playing time, where I'm going to be comfortable for the next four years and a great education."

Williams describes himself as an athlete.

"What I do well is make plays. What I need to improve on is making more plays," the 6-2, 180-pounder, a three-star on Scout.com, said. "It doesn't matter to me where I play in college. I could be a wideout, a DB, it doesn't matter. I just want to get on the field quickly."

Williams hopes to make a decision by the end of the summer, but it could drag into his senior season.

After the one-day camp Saturday, where Williams shined, he remarked about his opportunity to see the football end of campus.

"The camp was intense with great competition. I felt like I improved on the things I needed to in the one-on-one drills, route-running, catching the ball when I'm being defended very aggressively. I liked the workout and the drills and felt I got better," said Williams.

"I haven't been on the tour of the whole campus yet, but the football side impressed me. The coaches show you love and are straight up with you. If there is something you need to work on, they tell you and that's something I look for in coaches.

"I love the football facilities. The IPF is top of the line and something I would like to practice in. Ole Miss is definitely on my radar now."

Hunter patiently waiting:

Hunter doesn't have an offer from Ole Miss yet, but he wants to earn one.

He does have offers from Arkansas, Memphis and Mississippi State.

"Ole Miss wants to see me in person before making a decision," noted Hunter, who is a teammate of Rebel commitment RB Mark Dodson at Whitehaven. "I'd really like to get an offer from Ole Miss; they're my leaders right now. Then Arkansas, MSU and Memphis.

"I've known Coach (Maurice) Harris since I was a child. Also, Mark will be here and we're tight. I'd like to be blocking for him for the next four years."

Hunter is a 6-4, 300-pound lineman and is a three-star prospect on Scout.com.

Carr weighing his options:

Carr is committed to the Tennessee, but he's still weighing all his options.

The 6-6, 280-pounder from White Station says he's "60-70 percent" committed to the Volunteers.

"I'm interested in seeing what Ole Miss has to offer, so I came to give it a look. I've had a good relationship with Coach Harris," he said. "Mark (Dodson) is a friend of mine and he told me the campus is beautiful. From what I have seen, it is.

"Mark is trying to talk me into coming here because he believes we can do something special here together."

Carr also has interest in Alabama and USC.

"I want to learn about the academics at Ole Miss and learn about all the coaches here. You have to have plans for after football and education is important to me," he noted. "I don't really have doubts about what Tennessee is all about, but my Dad is encouraging me to give everyone a look and keep an open mind. That's what I'm doing."

Three quality prospects with three different scenarios.

One can pick and choose from just about any school. One is committed but wants to make sure and one is looking for the offer he wants the most.

The twists and turns of recruiting. A winding road.
