Leader Emerges

Loganville, Ga., three-star CB David Kamara came in for a one-day visit to Ole Miss over the weekend and left with a great impression.

Kamara, teammates and good friends with Robert Nkemdiche, said Ole Miss is now "at the top of my list."

"I like Kentucky and LSU also. Kentucky has offered me but LSU hasn't," said Kamara, awaiting a flight out of Memphis Sunday afternoon to go back to Georgia. "After my visit, though, Ole Miss is at the top."

Kamara, who was hosted by Ole Miss DB Chief Brown but hung out with Brown, Denzel Nkemdiche and Donte Moncrief a lot, said it's the players at Ole Miss that catapulted the Rebels into the lead.

"Man, it was just a lot of fun. The players are so close and have fun with each other and together," he said.

"It's a fun campus, a fun town and the fans love their players.

"That kind of enthusiasm, fun and excitement excites me. It was just a very cool atmosphere."

Another factor that changed his pecking order to put the Rebs in the lead is Kamara feels wanted.

"The coaches, the players, the fans showed how much they wanted me. It feels good to be wanted and appreciated," he noted.

Kamara was in Oxford during the biggest recruiting weekend, arguably, in Ole Miss history and he felt the rewards for the Rebels are there to be had.

"I really think Ole Miss is going to close strong. All of the guys here this weekend that I talked to really liked it," he said. "We've talked about all coming here together and having something special."

Kamara, a 5-11, 183-pounder, said he will make his final decision soon. He holds offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Clemson, Texas Tech, LSU and Kentucky.

"I'm going to decide before signing day," he closed.
