Arizona St. offers Harris

Parkway (Bossier City, La.) QB Brandon Harris hauled in his first BCS offer - third overall - from Coach Michael Norvell and the Arizona State Sun Devils...

Brandon Harris grabbed an Arizona State offer Sunday.

"I've had frequent contact with Arizona State," he said. "They've been in contact and told my head coach (David Feaster) they were offering.

"The offensive coordinator, Coach Norvell, actually told Coach Feaster last week about the offer, and then I talked to Coach Norvell today. (Norvell) is a great guy that I've been talking to for two-to-three weeks."

Harris can relate to Norvell, a long-time fixture on the recruiting trail in Louisiana.

"I like how Coach Norvell talks with me on the phone," the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder said. "I've been talking to him two-to-three times a week, keeping in steady contact. He let me know they were offering, and said he likes me and my highlight film.

"I talked to Coach Feaster today, too. He knew earlier about the offer and thought I already knew about it (laughter). He said he was proud of me and that it's one of many to come."

Harris spearheaded Parkway's run to the 2012 Class 5A quarterfinals.

The dual-threat signal-caller is at the top of his game on the field and in the classroom, as well.
