Markell Pack committed to Florida State in May, but his recruitment was far from over. Ole Miss was always there.

And on Friday night, while in Oxford, Miss., for an official visit, Pack made the switch. The four-star wide receiver is now a Rebel, becoming the 22nd pledge for the recruiting class of 2014.

"I love their offense," Pack said of Ole Miss in a previous interview with Scout.com. "I think I'd fit right in. It's fast-paced and gives you a lot of chances to make plays. The biggest thing that stands out to me about Ole Miss, though, is the big step they've taken from last year. They've added a lot of talent on their offense."

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Pack is rated the No. 31 wide receiver in the country by Scout.com. He held additional offers from, among others, Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, LSU, Mississippi State and Southern Miss.

"The people stand out the most at Ole Miss," Pack said.

"My uncle played there, Ellis Span, and my cousin Gary Pack played at Ole Miss. They both had good experiences up there. They tell me what it's all about, and I have a good relationship with (Ole Miss wide receivers) Coach (Grant) Heard."

With the addition of Pack, a U.S. Army All-American, Ole Miss now holds commitments from eight of the top 15 prospects in Mississippi.

Other notable names include Meridian, Miss., safety C.J. Hampton and Jackson, Miss., offensive lineman Roderick Taylor.

Pack, of Purvis, finished his senior season with 528 receiving yards on 35 catches and three touchdowns, as well as 1,170 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns. Should he hold firm in his commitment, he'll join an Ole Miss wide receiver corps featuring veterans Donte Moncrief and Vincent Sanders and breakout freshman Laquon Treadwell.

"They're more than a team," Pack said of Ole Miss. "It's like a family. I think I can help them out a lot."
