Rawlings Has 'Great' Visit

Madison-Ridgeland Academy Offensive Lineman Sean Rawlings took his official visit to Ole Miss over the weekend and said everything was "great." He will announce his final decision Thursday, he said, via Twitter.

"I had a great time with Coach (Hugh) Freeze and Coach (Matt) Luke," said Rawlings after his visit over the weekend to Ole Miss. "I have a really good relationship with both of them."

But as far as a commitment, Rawlings said he's not going to make an announcement until Thursday.

"I'm not really into the announcing at school or whatever, I'm just going to say something on Twitter sometime Thursday," said the soft-spoken, articulate Rawlings.

Rawlings said he saw no drawbacks with Ole Miss.

"I was hosted by Cale Luke. Man, I love Cale. He's a great guy," said Rawlings. "He showed me everything. It's awesome what they've done with the Manning Center.

"The new locker room is incredible. The team meeting room is second to none. The cafeteria and weight room expansion are very nice. What I really like is how convenient that whole complex is. You walk out of the locker room and can go eat, work out, practice, play the game, meet with the coaches, have a team meeting or whatever right there under one roof a few steps from the practice fields and the stadium. It's pretty special the way they have everything together."

Sean Rawlings

There has been some internet debate about Rawlings' status with Ole Miss. He cleared all of that up quickly.

"I have received an offer from Ole Miss," he stated.

And with that is decision time between the Rebels and Mississippi State.

Meanwhile, Sean is the starting center for the MRA hoops team. At 6-5, 280, he's the stopper in the middle.

"I was 290 during football, but I have trimmed down some for basketball," he noted.

What does Rawlings feel he has to do to excel on the next level?

"Like all freshmen OL, I have to get bigger and stronger and get adjusted to the speed of the SEC," said Rawlings. "But I am very confident that will come with time because I am going to put in the effort to get my mind and body right."

Rawlings said the Rebels are recruiting him as a center, primarily.

"I think Coach Luke likes that I have the leadership qualities he's looking for in a center," he closed. "That is a position I prefer moving forward."

Stay tuned Thursday. . .Twitter account @RAWL35.
