Three-star cornerback/running back Dacorius Law left from his official visit to Ole Miss in late January with the Rebels as his leader.

On National Signing Day, Ole Miss went from leader to future.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Law, of Haines City, Fla., announced for the Rebels Wednesday morning, joining a 2014 class already ranked in the top-20 nationally.

Law, who is rated the No. 79 running back in the country by, chose the Rebels over Utah and others.

"It was so beautiful in Oxford and all the people were great," Law said of his visit to Ole Miss in a previous interview with "I was overwhelmed with everything - the coaches, the facilities. It was really good."

Law could be used in a number of roles for Ole Miss.

"They said I could play slot, running back, cornerback, safety, punt return, kickoff return - wherever they need me," he said. "I'm down with any of that. I feel I'm versatile enough to do whatever the team needs, and I'm willing to do that."

"D.J. is a 4.4 guy right now, but with some good training, I think he'll be in the 4.3s quickly," Haines City head coach Ron Johnson, whose 7A team competed in the second-highest classification in Florida prep ranks, said of Law. "He hasn't tapped into his potential. You get him in a structured environment and he will just blossom. The sky is the limit for him."

Scout Evaluation:

Law is one of the most under publicized running backs from the Sunshine State in the class of 2014. He has good size, speed and quickness. He can run with power and elusiveness. Law has good vision and balance and he can catch the ball out of the backfield. Perhaps his best attribute is his quick feet and agility. He can start and stop on a dime. Law is explosive and can beat a defense in a variety of ways. -- Jamie Newberg
