Recruiting Competition: D.K. committed so early, and his ties to Ole Miss, being a hometown product, were so strong that there really was no competition for his signature. Certainly, there were other suitors, but they fell off early in the recruiting process when they realized their efforts were a waste of time and resources.

Quotable: "My choice was more than Ole Miss being a hometown school. It was the coaching staff's loyalty to me and the way things are going there. Coach (Hugh) Freeze is a great coach who is positive and God-fearing. The program is going in the right direction. And I love our class – I think we can make an impact in helping take this program even higher."

Scouting Report: Buford's game revolves around speed, but Freeze was sold on him when he watched special teams films from Lafayette County HS and realized D.K.'s toughness to go along with his movement. It is anticipated D.K. will be tried at Husky to give that position more speed/coverage skills.

Coach Hugh Freeze Quote: "D.K. is not only a great kid, but he's a talented young man who is driven and wants to be the best he can be. Anyone would love his 4.4, or below, speed, but he's not just a speed guy. He's got the athletic ability, with some development on this level, to be an excellent college football player beyond his speed. We are going to try him on defense at first, but we are open to putting him wherever it will help the team."
