Recruiting Competition: JUCO offensive linemen who have a chance to come in at semester break and go through spring ball are in demand. When Cooper signed with Ole Miss, that was the plan, but he fell just a hair short academically and had to go back to junior college for a semester. Nonetheless, he tripped Oklahoma and Texas Tech, and had offers from other top schools, but chose the Rebels in the end. Fahn will report in June when he finishes his JUCO requirements.
Quotable: "I like to play violently. What I like about football is the aggression. I play as hard as I can and do as much damage to defensive linemen as I can. Why did I choose Ole Miss/ The coaches are close, the players are close - I was sold. Everyone has everyone else's back at Ole Miss and that's the atmosphere I want to play in. I want to be a part of a football family and they have that at Ole Miss. That was obvious."
Scouting Report: Putting it delicately, the Rebels have to get more athletic on the offensive line. Fahn, a former basketball player, has excellent feet and movement for a 6-5, 315-pounder. He fits what the Rebels want to do on offense from an OL standpoint. OL Coach Matt Luke also liked the tenacity Fahn showed on film. Given time in the Rebel S&C program, Fahn should be SEC ready. Also, as a true freshman at Bowling Green, he started against Florida in the Swamp and more than held his own against SEC defensive linemen. In other words, he has proof on film he can compete and succeed on this level.
Coach Hugh Freeze Quote: "We need someone to replace Pierece Burton at right tackle who has some maturity and some experience on this level. We believe Fahn can come in and compete for that spot immediately. He and I are disappointed he won't be here in spring, but we will welcome his length, athleticism and the attitude he plays with when he gets here in the summer."
