Three-star wide receiver Daniel Crowell committed to Ole Miss Tuesday night.

Crowell, of Meridian High School in Meridian, Miss., and a member of the recruiting class of 2016, chose the Rebels over Mississippi State. Alabama, Georgia and LSU also showed interest.

“You can just feel the love up there, from the coaches to the players to everyone,” Crowell said of Ole Miss in a phone interview with Chuck Rounsaville of the Ole Miss Spirit following his commitment. “The way the coaches treat their players and everything is just what I was looking for.”

The 6-foot-1, 191-pound Crowell said his strength is his knack for getting open.

“I can find seams in the defense. I just have a sixth sense about it,” he said. “Between now and the time I get to Ole Miss, I want to work on my blocking, route-running and getting off press coverage.”

As a sophomore in 2013, Crowell, who camped at Ole Miss, Alabama and Georgia this summer, caught 41 passes for 812 yards and nine touchdowns. He had over 150 receiving yards and scored two touchdowns in Meridian’s scrimmage game against West Point in the spring.

Crowell is a teammate of 2015 prospect J’Mar Smith, a three-star quarterback, and a former teammate of current Ole Miss safety C.J. Hampton, rated a four-star prospect and Scout 100 member last recruiting season. Hampton enrolled at Ole Miss in December.

Crowell is the fourth commitment for the recruiting class of 2016, joining a pair of four-stars in Justin Conner, a running back, and DeKaylin Metcalf, a wide receiver, as well as three-star offensive lineman Eli Johnson.
