Recruiting Competition: Limited space and ink does not allow listing all the offers Van had, but it is probably safe to say his final four were Ole Miss, Georgia, Michigan and Oklahoma. After committing to Ole Miss, Michigan and Georgia made the biggest pushes for his services, but in the end he stuck with the Rebs.

Jefferson: "My main attributes are speed and route-running. I am also very competitive and like to win. I fell in love with football at an early age watching my Father play in the NFL and coach in the NFL. My dream is to one day play in the league. Recruiting was stressful but I fell in love with Ole Miss a while back. My dad at the time didn't me to go there, but we came with an agreement as a family today that Ole Miss is the best place for me. I couldn't be anymore happy about my decision. It's just the perfect offense with me with the perfect coaching staff and perfect school. What else could I ask for?"

Scouting Report: Jefferson is a very polished wide receiver. He runs sharp and crisp routes and he really sinks his hips and bursts out of his breaks. He catches the ball very naturally, he catches the ball away from his body, and he shows great concentration. He can catch the ball in traffic or go up and get the ball. Strength and donwfield speed are areas he can improve on, but his speed is deceptive.

Coach Hugh Freeze Quote: “Van gets in and out of cuts as well as any high school receiver I have seen. His Father, a great receiver in his own right, has taught him well and Van is obviously more polished than most receivers coming out of high school in his understanding of the game of football. A great get for us.”
