Ole Miss commitment Stats
**Ole Miss 4-Star RB commit Justin Connor had a bye this past
week. In three games of action he now has 38 carries for 304 yards and five
touchdowns. On defense where he plays corner the 5-foot-10, 185-pounder has
12 tackles and an interception. Last season the Dandy Dozen selection back had
131 carries for 936 yards and eight touchdowns in an injury-plagued season that
saw him miss four games of action.
North Panola (2-1) is at O'Brannon Friday.
** The nation's No. 60 prospect, D.K. Metcalf, helped Oxford to a 31-21 win over Lafayette. The Ole Miss commit had three catches for 38 yards. Through four games the 6-foot-4, 208-pound wide out has 19 catches for 241 yards and two touchdowns. The Army All-American had over 1,300 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior. D.K. attended the Fresno State game this past Saturday.
Oxford (1-2) is at home against West Point Friday.
Lafayette plays at Louisville Friday.
**The nation's No. 159 prospect, Benito Jones, had a bye this weekend. The Dandy Dozen selection has 22 tackles, 10 for a loss, three batted down balls, six quarterback hurries and two sacks through three games. Last season the first team All-State selection had 84 tackles, three sacks, five for loss, three forced fumbles and three recovered fumbles.
Wayne County (2-1) is at home against Archbishop Rummel (LA) Friday.
**The nation's No. 259 prospect Denzel Mitchell and Hamilton lost a heartbreaker to Moody in the last minute of a 38-35 game. The Ole Miss commit tore his Achilles tendon in his spring game against New Hope. He could miss anywhere from five to six games this season. That will be determined after game four when he visits his doctor. Denzel's junior season included 1,450 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. The 5' 11", 212-pound back finished his sophomore season with an area best 1,718 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.
**The nation's No. 37 rated inside linebacker, Donta Evans, helped Archer to a 26-24 win over Grayson. Donta had nine tackles, two for a loss, blocked a punt and recovered a fumble in the game. Through three weeks Donta has 25 tackles, five for a loss, one sack and has blocked two punts. Last season the 6-foot-1 Evans had 98 tackles and seven sacks while manning the linebacker and defensive end positions.
Archer is at home against Parkview this week.
**The nation's No.121 ranked prospect, Jaylon Jones, helped Allen to a 45-15 win over Boyd Friday. Allen won the Class 6A State championship in the state of Texas last season. The 5-foot-11 defensive back had nine tackles and an interception in the contest. The soon-to-be safety now has 25 tackles, two interceptions, two and returned one back for a touchdown in three games. Last season Jones made the All-State team after collecting a team high 11 interceptions.
Archer is at home against Plano Friday.
**The nation's No. 185 ranked prospect, Bryce Mathews, helped
Brentwood blow out Jackson Central Merry 70-0. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound left
tackle has only given up one sack in 32 games as a starter.
Brentwood is at Baylor Friday.
Pennamon attended the Ole Miss game Saturday.
**The nation's No. 289 rated prospect, D'Vaughn Pennamon, had a bye this past week. The 205-pound tailback has 13 rushes for 125 yards and seven receptions for 48 yards through two games. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound Pennamon averaged over eight yards a carry as a junior.
**Three-star Ole Miss commit Jarrion Street had 125 rushing yards, 60 receiving yards and three touchdowns in Hewitt-Trussville's 28-12 win over Vestavia Hills in front of Ole Miss coach Derrick Nix Friday. The 6-foot-2, 206-pound tailback has 701 rushing yards, 110 receiving yards and nine touchdowns through four games. Street ran for 1,220 yards and 12 touchdowns on just 183 carries as a junior last year.
Hewitt-Trussville is at home against Spain Park Friday.
**Scout.com's No. 35 rated offensive guard, Chandler Tuitt, helped Sandy Creek (GA) to a 34-0 over Newnan. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound tackle recorded 16 pancake blocks in the first three game. Tuitt attended the Ole Miss/Fresno State game Saturday with his mother and grandmother.
Sandy Creek is at Auburn Friday.
**The No. 111 rated defensive end, Tariqious Tisdale, helped
Lexington to a 22-8 win over Haywood. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound two-way player
had eight tackles, one and half sacks, two tackles for a loss, and eight carries
for 80 yards and a touchdown. He now has 31 tackles, six for a loss, and four
and half sacks through three games.
Lexington plays is at home against Jackson North Side Friday.
**Scout.com's No. 60 rated offensive guard, Jack DeFoor, helped
Calhoun to a 54-0 win over Gordon Central last Friday. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder
was named first team All-State for all classifications as junior by the AJC.
Calhoun (3-0) is at home against North Murray Friday.
**Scout.com's No. 36 rated safety, Greg Eisworth, helped his
team to a 28-18 win over Martin to run their record to 2-1. The 6-foot, 180-pound
two-way player had 146 passing yards and 70 rushing yards in the contest. Greg
now has 322 passing yards/three touchdowns and 327 rushing yards/one touchdown
through two games. Last season while playing quarterback he had over 3,000 yards.
South Grand Prairie is at home against Cooper Friday.
**4-Star DE Charles Wiley helped Stockbroker a 49-6 win over
Morrow Friday. The 6-foot-2, 242 pound end has 22 tackles, three sacks, and
eight tackles for a loss through three games. He was the Region 4(5A) Defensive
Player of the Year, Henry County Defensive player of the Year and first team
5A All-State after collecting 20 sacks as a junior.
Stockbridge (3-0) faces Rockdale County (GA) Friday.
**JUCO MLB David Luafatasage has 21 tackles with two coming for a loss in three games of action for Arizona Western CC. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound middle linebacker totaled 66 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups as a freshman.
**The nation's top quarterback, Shea Patterson, helped IMG
to a 49-7 win over Cocoa to run their record to 3-1. The nation's top quarterback
was 6-8 for 238 yards and four touchdowns in the game. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound
signal caller is 47-74 for 777 yards and tex touchdowns through four games.
Last season Shea helped Calvary Baptist (La.) to a state championship. He was
129-199 for 2,428 yards and 38 touchdowns with only five interceptions.
IMG is at Bergen Catholic (New Jersey) Friday.
**The No. 90 overall rated prospect, Octavious Cooley, had
a break out game with 10 catches 210 yards and two touchdowns in Laurel's heartbreaking
28-27 loss to Petal. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end has 17 catches for 357
yards and two touchdowns through four games. Last season he caught 46 passes
for 1,062 yards and nine touchdowns. His sophomore campaign saw him catch 51
passes for 1,007 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Laurel is at home against West Jones Friday.
**Gabe Angel, the No. 32 rated athlete in the county, had
three catches for 75-yards in Cookeville's. Through four games Gabe has one
rush for 34 yards and ten catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns. Gabe is
going both ways and has also collected 18 solo tackles and batted down four
balls through three games. As a junior the 6-foot-3 1/2, 215-pounder had 40
carries or 454 yards and eight touchdowns, as well as 15 catches for 277 yards
and three touchdowns.
