Ole Miss Commitment Progress Report

Week six is in the books for the high school schedule. Several of the Ole Miss commits made a statement in their games. To grab the stats from last week's games, read below.

Ole Miss commitment Stats

**Ole Miss 4-Star RB commit Justin Connor rushed for a season high 172 rushing yards in a career high 36 rushes last week in their 22-20 loss to O'Bannon. In four games of action he now has 76 carries for 482 yards and six touchdowns. On defense where he plays corner the 5-foot-10, 185-pounder has 16 tackles and an interception. Last season the Dandy Dozen selection back had 131 carries for 936 yards and eight touchdowns in an injury-plagued season that saw him miss four games of action.

North Panola (2-2) is at home against Manassas (Tenn) tonight. Connor is expected to be at the Vandy game Saturday.

** The nation's No. 60 prospect, D.K. Metcalf, had a bye this past week. Through four games the 6-foot-4, 208-pound wide out has 19 catches for 241 yards and two touchdowns. The Army All-American had over 1,300 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior. D.K. is expected to be at the Vandy game Saturday.

Oxford (2-2) is at home against West Point tonight.

** 3-Star OL Eli Johnson and Lafayette defeated Louisville 27-20 last Friday to run their record to 4-1. The 6' 3", 285-pound lineman is back to 100% after playing a junior season spent, for the most part, recovering from a torn ACL that occurred during the state championship game in December of 2013. Eli is expected to be at the Vandy game Saturday.

Lafayette plays at home against Ripley tonight.

**The nation's No. 159 prospect, Benito Jones, had eight tackles in the ESPN televised game against Archbishop Rummel (LA).. The Dandy Dozen selection has 30 tackles, 11 for a loss, three batted down balls, six quarterback hurries and two sacks through four games. Last season the first team All-State selection had 84 tackles, three sacks, five for loss, three forced fumbles and three recovered fumbles.

Wayne County (2-2) is at Wingfield tonight. Benito is expected to be at the Vandy game Saturday.

**The nation's No. 259 prospect Denzel Mitchell and Hamilton lost a heartbreaker to Moody in the last minute of a 38-35 game. The Ole Miss commit tore his Achilles tendon in his spring game against New Hope. He could miss anywhere from five to six games this season. That will be determined after game four when he visits his doctor. Denzel's junior season included 1,450 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. The 5' 11", 212-pound back finished his sophomore season with an area best 1,718 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.

**The nation's No. 37 rated inside linebacker, Donta Evans, had a bye this week. Through three weeks Donta has 25 tackles, five for a loss, one sack and has blocked two punts. Last season the 6-foot-1 Evans had 98 tackles and seven sacks while manning the linebacker and defensive end positions.

Archer is at home against Parkview tonight.

**The nation's No.121 ranked prospect, Jaylon Jones, helped Allen to a 65-0 win over Plano last Friday. Allen won the Class 6A State championship in the state of Texas last season. The 5-foot-11 defensive back had seven tackles and an interception in the contest. The soon-to-be safety now has 32 tackles, three interceptions, and returned one back for a touchdown in four games. Last season Jones made the All-State team after collecting a team high 11 interceptions.

Archer is at home against Marcus tonight.

**The nation's No. 185 ranked prospect, Bryce Mathews, helped Brentwood Academy to a win over Goodpasture Christian this week to run their record to 5-1.The 6-foot-6, 285-pound left tackle has only given up one sack in 32 games as a starter.

Brentwood is at Ensworth next Friday. Bryce is expected to be at the Vandy game Saturday.

**The nation's No. 289 rated prospect, D'Vaughn Pennamon, had nine carries for 127 yards and a touchdown in their 75-7 win over Dobie Friday to run their record to 3-0. The 205-pound tailback has 20 rushes for 242 yards and eight receptions for 56 yards through three games. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound Pennamon averaged over eight yards a carry as a junior.

**Three-star Ole Miss commit Jarrion Street had 138 rushing yards in Hewitt-Trussville's 31-28 win over Spain Park. The 6-foot-2, 206-pound tailback has 787 rushing yards, 138 receiving yards and eleven touchdowns through five games. Street ran for 1,220 yards and 12 touchdowns on just 183 carries as a junior last year.

Hewitt-Trussville is at Oak Mountain tonight. Street is expected to be at the Ole Miss game Saturday.

**Scout.com's No. 35 rated offensive guard, Chandler Tuitt, had a bye last week. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound tackle recorded 16 pancake blocks in the first four game. Tuitt is expected to be at the Vandy game Saturday with his mother and grandmother.

Sandy Creek is at Auburn Friday.

**The No. 111 rated defensive end, Tariqious Tisdale, helped Lexington to a 30-7 win over Jackon Central Merry last Friday. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound two-way player had five tackles, two sacks, and seven carries for 57 yards and two touchdowns. He now has 36 tackles, seven for a loss, and 6 1/2 sacks through four games. On offense Tisdale has over 180 rushing yards and three touchdowns

Lexington plays is at Chester County tonight. Tariqious is expected to be at the Ole Miss game Saturday.

**Scout.com's No. 60 rated offensive guard, Jack DeFoor, helped Calhoun to a 55-17 win at North Murray (GA) last Friday. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder was named first team All-State for all classifications as junior by the AJC.

Calhoun (5-0) is at home against Ringold tonight.

**Scout.com's No. 36 rated safety, Greg Eisworth, helped South Grand Prairie to a thrilling 36-30 win over Cooper last Friday to push their record to 3-1. The 6-foot, 180-pound two-way player had 148 passing yards and 153 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the contest. Greg now has 453 passing yards/five touchdowns and 480 rushing yards/two touchdowns through four games. Last season while playing quarterback he had over 3,000 yards.

South Grand Prairie is at Midlothian tonight.

**4-Star DE Charles Wiley helped Stockbroker a 55-12 win over Rockdale County Friday to push their record to 4-0. The 6-foot-2, 242 pound end had five solo tackles and two sacks in the contest. He now has 27 tackles, five sacks, and 10 tackles for a loss through four games. He was the Region 4(5A) Defensive Player of the Year, Henry County Defensive player of the Year and first team 5A All-State after collecting 20 sacks as a junior.

Stockbridge (4-0) faces Dutchtown (GA) Friday.


**JUCO MLB David Luafatasage has 29 tackles, four for a loss, and two sacks through four games of action for Arizona Western CC. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound linebacker/defensive end totaled 66 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups as a freshman.


**The nation's top quarterback, Shea Patterson, helped IMG to a 59-47 win over Bergen Catholic (N.J.) last Saturday to run their record to 4-0. The nation's top quarterback was 8-16 for 202 yards and two touchdowns in the game. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound signal caller is 55-93 for 979 yards and eleven touchdowns with one interception through four games. Last season Shea helped Calvary Baptist (La.) to a state championship. He was 129-199 for 2,428 yards and 38 touchdowns with only five interceptions.

IMG has a bye this week and is expected to attend the OM/Vandy game with teammate WR Drake Davis.

**The No. 90 overall rated prospect, Octavious Cooley, had a bye this past Friday.The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end has 17 catches for 357 yards and two touchdowns through four games. Last season he caught 46 passes for 1,062 yards and nine touchdowns. His sophomore campaign saw him catch 51 passes for 1,007 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Laurel is at home against West Jones tonight. Cooley is expected to be at the OM/Vandy game Saturday..


**Gabe Angel, the No. 32 rated athlete in the county, had three rushes for 72-yards and three touchdowns in Cookeville's 50-19 win over Siegel to push their record to 6-0. Through six games Gabe has six rushes for 121 yards and three touchdowns. He has 12 catches for 233 yards and three touchdowns. Gabe is going both ways and has also collected 26 solo tackles and batted down five balls through six games. As a junior the 6-foot-3 1/2, 215-pounder had 40 carries or 454 yards and eight touchdowns, as well as 15 catches for 277 yards and three touchdowns.

Cookeville is at home against Blackman tonight. He's expected to attend the OM/Vandy game Saturday..
