Ole Miss Commitment Progress Report

Week seven is in the books for many of the Ole Miss commitments. Which ones shinned the most last weekend? Read inside to find out the stats for all of Rebel verbals.

Ole Miss commitment Stats

**Ole Miss 4-Star RB commit Justin Connor rushed for a season high 172 rushing yards the week before last and followed that up with another season high 252 rushing yards/2 touchdowns on 16 carries in their 30-28 loss to Manassas. In five games of action he now has 90 carries for 728 yards and eight touchdowns. On defense where he plays corner the 5-foot-10, 185-pounder has 21 tackles and an interception. Last season the Dandy Dozen selection back had 131 carries for 936 yards and eight touchdowns in an injury-plagued season that saw him miss four games of action.

North Panola (3-3) is at home against Charleston tonight. Connor has been selected to play in the Offense/Defense All-American game.

** The nation's No. 60 prospect, D.K. Metcalf, had four catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns last Friday against Saltillo. Through six games the 6-foot-4, 208-pound wide out has 28 catches for 442 yards and six touchdowns. The Army All-American had over 1,300 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior. D.K. is expected to be at the Vandy game Saturday.

Oxford (2-2) is at home against West Point tonight. Metcalf has been selected to play in MS/AL and Army All-American games.

** 3-Star OL Eli Johnson and Lafayette defeated Ripley 45-14 last Friday to run their record to 6-1. The 6' 2", 285-pound lineman was selected to the MS/AL All-Star game. Johnson has also been invited to the Offense/Defense All-American game.

Lafayette (6-1) plays at Rosa Fort tonight.

**The nation's No. 159 prospect, Benito Jones, had four solo tackles in Wayne County's 48-16 win over Brookhaven. The 6-foot-2, 320-pound defensive tackle now has 34 tackles, 11 for a loss, three batted down balls, six quarterback hurries and two sacks through six games. Last season the first team All-State selection had 84 tackles, three sacks, five for loss, three forced fumbles and three recovered fumbles.

Wayne County (3-2) is at home against Wingfield tonight. Benito was selected to the MS/AL and Under Armour All-Star games.

**The nation's No. 259 prospect Denzel Mitchell dressed out for the first time this season in last week's loss against Winfield. He did not get any snaps but the process is well under way for him to return this season after he tore his Achilles tendon in his spring game against New Hope. Denzel's junior season included 1,450 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. The 5' 11", 212-pound back finished his sophomore season with an area best 1,718 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.

**The nation's No. 37 rated inside linebacker, Donta Evans, helped Archer to a 49-0 thumping over Berkmar last Friday. In the contest the Ole Miss commit had five tackles with two coming for a loss. Through five games Donta has 31 tackles, eight for a loss, three sacks and has blocked two punts. Last season the 6-foot-1 Evans had 98 tackles and seven sacks while manning the linebacker and defensive end positions.

Archer (4-1) is at home against South Gwinnett tonight.

**The nation's No.121 ranked prospect, Jaylon Jones, helped Allen to a 52-7 win over Lewisville last Friday to run their record to 5-0. Allen high school has won three straight state titles and 49 consecutive games, allowing only 15.8 points per game through that span.The 5-foot-11 defensive back had three tackles and a batted down ball in the contest. The soon-to-be safety now has 31 tackles, three interceptions, five batted down passes and returned one back for a touchdown in four games. Last season Jones made the All-State team after collecting a team high 11 interceptions.

Archer is at home against Hebron tonight. Jones has been selected to play in the Offense/Defense All-American bowl on January 2nd.

**The nation's No. 185 ranked prospect, Bryce Mathews, helped Brentwood Academy to a 49-7 win over Ensworth last Friday. The 6-foot-6, 285-pound left tackle has 38 pancakes through six games.

Brentwood (5-1) is at home against Montgomery Bell Academy tonight.

**The nation's No. 289 rated prospect, D'Vaughn Pennamon, had had a bye this past week. The 205-pound tailback has 35 rushes for 360 yards and eight receptions for 56 yards through five games. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound Pennamon averaged over eight yards a carry as a junior.

Manvel (4-1) is at Dawson tonight.

**Three-star Ole Miss commit Jarrion Street continues to put his claim as Alabama's top tailback. He rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns in Hewitt-Trussville's 38-31 win over Oak Mountain (Ala). The 6-foot-2, 206-pound tailback has rushed the ball 139 times for 966 yards and 11 touchdowns through six games. Street ran for 1,220 yards and 12 touchdowns on 183 carries as a junior last year.

Hewitt-Trussville is at home against Thompson tonight.

**Scout.com's No. 35 rated offensive guard, Chandler Tuitt, had a bye this past week. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound tackle has recorded 28 pancakes through four games of action.

Sandy Creek (4-1) is at Whitewater tonight. Tuitt has been selected to play in the Offense/Defense All-American game.

**3-Star defensive end, Tariqious Tisdale, and Lexington rebounded for a 49-12 win over Ripley last Friday. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound two-way player sustained a high ankle sprain the week before and didn't play in the contest. Test came back negative which is good news for both Lexington and Tisdale. He now has 36 tackles, seven for a loss, and 6 1/2 sacks through four games. On offense Tisdale has over 180 rushing yards and three touchdowns

Lexington (4-2) plays is at Obion County tonight.

**Scout.com's No. 60 rated offensive guard, Jack DeFoor, and Calhoun stayed unbeaten with a 45-13 win over Adairsville (GA) last Friday. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder was named first team All-State for all classifications as junior by the AJC.

Calhoun (6-0) is at Sonoraville tonight.

**Scout.com's No. 36 rated safety, Greg Eisworth, led the charge in South Grand Prairie's 28-26 win over Duncanville (TX). The 6-foot, 180-pound two-way player had 131 passing yards, 152 rushing yards in the contest. Greg now has 771 passing yards/nine touchdowns and 772 rushing yards/seven touchdowns through five games. Last season while playing quarterback he had over 3,000 yards.

South Grand Prairie (5-1) is at Grand Prairie tonight.

**4-Star DE Charles Wiley and Stockbridge defeated Dutchtown 12-0 last Friday. The 6-foot-2, 242 pound end ha had a sack in the contest which pushes his season total to 27 tackles, six sacks, and 13 tackles for a loss through five games. He was the Region 4(5A) Defensive Player of the Year, Henry County Defensive player of the Year and first team 5A All-State after collecting 20 sacks as a junior.

Stockbridge (5-0) is on the road at Luella (GA) Friday.


**JUCO MLB David Luafatasage helped Arizona Western to a 20-10 win over Pima CC last Saturday. David had seven tackles with two coming for a loss in the contest. David now has 43 tackles, eight for a loss, and three sacks through six games of action. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound linebacker totaled 66 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three pass breakups as a freshman.

Arizona Western (3-2) is at home against Mesa CC Saturday.


**The nation's top quarterback, Shea Patterson, and IMG defeated St. Joseph (N.J.) this past Friday. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound signal caller was 11-23 for 118 yards and had his first two interceptions of the season in the contest. He is 47-82 for 917 yards and eleven touchdowns with two interception through five games. Last season Shea helped Calvary Baptist (La.) to a state championship. He was 129-199 for 2,428 yards and 38 touchdowns with only five interceptions.

IMG (5-0) is at home against Southern Lab (La) tonight. Shea has been selected to play in the Army All-American game.

**The No. 90 overall rated prospect, Octavious Cooley, helped Laurel to a 45-0 win over rival Natchez last Friday.The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end had two catches for 35 yards and a touchdown in the contest. He now has 24 catches for 510 yards and seven touchdowns through six games. Last season he caught 46 passes for 1,062 yards and nine touchdowns. His sophomore campaign saw him catch 51 passes for 1,007 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Laurel (3-3) is at Wingfield tonight. Cooley has been selected to play in the MS/AL All-Star game in December.


**Gabe Angel, the No. 32 rated athlete in the county, had over 150 yards of offense in Cookeville's 42-14 win over Coffee County Central. It was Cookville's first loss of the season. Through seven games Gabe has over 650 yards of offense and four touchdowns. Gabe is going both ways and has also collected 26 solo tackles and batted down five balls through six games. As a junior the 6-foot-3 1/2, 215-pounder had 40 carries or 454 yards and eight touchdowns, as well as 15 catches for 277 yards and three touchdowns.

Cookeville (6-1) is at Smyrna tonight.
