Scout.com evaluation: The Ole Miss commit was used in a variety of ways by Cookeville this season. He had over 700 yards of offense and 60 plus tackles on defense. Defensively, he's projected at the tight end position by Ole Miss. In high school he was used in the Wildcat set on some plays, wideout others and played the traditional tight end position with his hand on the ground. You can tell that he thrives in getting in open spaces. He has plus speed for a tight end and uses his vision to make exceptional plays when he gets in space. We like how he uses his stiff arm to shield the defenders with the ball in his hands. He also uses his hands to catch the ball and doesn't let the ball get into his body.

Defensively he excelled this season as well. He has good ball hawking skills and it's not inconceivable he could play a linebacker spot if needed on the next level.

Gabe was one of the more sought after recruits in the State of Tennessee this season. He was offered by the likes of Alabama, Tennessee, Florida State, LSU and several more. It came down to Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee and North Carolina before he committed to the Rebels during his junior year.
